The uptime contest is a game for people with a
permanent connection to the internet.
This idea was brought up by some bored server administrators
who wanted to find the most stable server by comparing
the uptime of their IRC connection. We opened an IRC
channel, gave voice to all competitors and waited until
only one voiced user was left.
That user was the winner
of course.
In the meantime this contest became an institution nobody
would want to miss anymore.
